A Legacy of Compassion and Service: Majors Chris and Heidi Farrell retire after 20 Years of dedicated ministry

Oklahoma City, OK — After more than two decades of selfless service as Salvation Army officers, Majors Chris and Heidi Farrell have embarked on a new chapter in their lives as they entered honored retirement on with a ceremony on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. The retirement ceremony, held at the Oklahoma City Citadel Corps, was a joyous occasion attended by family, friends, and fellow believers, including Lt. Colonels Dean and Pam Hinson, divisional leaders, who officiated the event.

Throughout their distinguished careers, the Farrells have exemplified the values of The Salvation Army, touching countless lives with their unwavering commitment to the Christian faith and their tireless efforts to bring hope and transformation to those in need. They have served in various appointments throughout Florida, leaving indelible marks of Christ’s compassion in every community they touched, before concluding their journey in Oklahoma City.

Commissioned in 2002 as members of the Crossbearers session of cadets, Majors Chris and Heidi Farrell embraced their calling with passion and humility. Their legacy of pastoral care and compassion for the least, the lost, and the last is a testament to their unwavering dedication to following in the footsteps of Christ.

Major Chris, a gifted trombone player, used his musical talents not for personal acclaim, but as a means to uplift others.
