The Soldier Portal web app brings us closer as a church community. It connects all corps members with up-to-date information at your fingertips. Easily search the corps directory by name or photo. Update your info and upload your picture from any device. View your attendance history, group membership, and stewardship gifts. Stay in the loop with recent and upcoming events through the corps calendar. It’s the one place to update addresses, contact info, and preferences. Meeting Journal with Attendance

We invite those of you who have permission to take attendance in the Soldier Portal app to go a step further and submit journal entries and photos capturing the essence of our meetings. By sharing the interesting aspects of our gatherings and group dynamics that make them so special, we can showcase the unique atmosphere, deep sense of community, and genuine love and care for one another. Let your journal entries and photos be a testament to why others would love to join this group, inspiring them to experience the incredible work God is doing in our midst.

Your journal entries will inspire and encourage others, providing them with a glimpse into the transformative power of our gatherings and how God is touching, healing, growing, and prospering our members. Likewise, photos will capture those real-life moments and interactions, authentically reflecting our group’s joy, unity, and shared experiences. These visual reminders will foster a more profound connection among group members and help newcomers envision themselves as part of our community.

So, if you have permission to take attendance in the Soldier Portal web app, we encourage you to seize the opportunity to contribute journal entries and photos to any of our meetings. Together, let us create vibrant and captivating documentation of our journey, highlighting the extraordinary work of God and inviting others to join us on this incredible path of faith.

The journal entries are not shown in the Soldier app at this time. However, you may submit them for use with the Women’s Reporter and other reporting and communications efforts.

How to get access to your web account?

Access to this website is granted by invitation only. If you haven’t received an invitation, please get in touch with your corps officer, and ask them to create your Soldier Portal web account. Your full email address and their approval are required to get started. Corps officers can grant meeting attendance access to Soldier Portal web accounts. If volunteers, employees, or officers need to access the full Corps Management System, an organizational account is needed.

Once you have a Soldier Portal web account, you will receive an email with a temporary password.

Accessing the Soldier Portal App

In any web browser on your mobile device, go to https://soldiers.sauss.net.

Features

Soldiers and corps members of The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory can access the Soldier Portal App using https://soldier.sauss.net.

Access to this website is granted by invitation only. If you haven’t received an invitation, please contact your corps officer, and ask them to create your Soldier Portal web account.

Please provide them with your active email address to add to the Corps Management System Directory.

You will receive an email invitation with a temporary password. Please access the site and update the password immediately. Check your email and follow the instructions in our message. If you didn’t get an email, please check your SPAM or Junk email folder and consider adding our domain to your safe senders list.

Bookmark App

On Apple Phones & Tablets

Open Safari (or your web browser)
Navigate to https://soldier.sauss.net using the address bar at the top of the screen
Close the keyboard by tapping done
Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen
Swipe up in the share window
Tap “Add to Home Screen”
Change the name from “App” to “Soldier App”
Tap Add in the top right corner
The Soldier App will now appear on the home screen in an empty space on the last active home screen.

On Android Phones & Tablets

Open Chrome (or your web browser)
Navigate to https://soldier.sauss.net using the address bar at the top of the screen
Close the keyboard by tapping done
Tap the More Actions button (3 dots) at the top of the screen
Tap “Add to home screen” in the list
Change the name from “App” to “Soldier App”
Tap Add to complete the process
The Soldier App will now appear on the home screen in an empty space on the last active home screen.

On Microsoft Windows & Apple Mac Computers

Open Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox browser
Type in https://soldier.sauss.net in the address bar at the top of the screen the press enter
Press CTRL+D to add a bookmark with the name “Soldier App”

Update My Info

You may upload your profile photo, address, contact info, email, password, and contact preferences using the instructions below.

Select Account

1. Tap the Add a Profile Photo link
2. Click the Choose File button below to take a picture on your phone or select a picture from your computer. After you select or take a picture, click the Preview button.
3. Once in Preview mode, you will have the option to rotate the picture if needed.
4. Tap the save button
5. Tips and Tricks
  1. If you are using an iPhone or an iPad, you will get the best results if you hold it horizontally, with the large circular Home button facing right just like this picture.
  2. If the Choose File button is disabled, your device doesn’t support mobile photo uploads. If you are on an iPhone or iPad, you must be running iOS6 or higher.
  3. If you experience problems uploading pictures directly from your camera, you can always take a picture first and then upload the saved picture.
  4. If you upload a picture bigger than 800 pixels wide or 640 pixels high it will be resized prior to being saved.
  5. This feature will also work on your desktop browser with photos on your computer. We highly recommend using Google Chrome for the best user experience.
Update Contact Info
1. The following information can be updated at any time using the soldier app portal account.
2. Address, city, state, zip, company name, job title, industry, website 1/social media 1, website 2/social media 2.
3. Be sure to select the apply button to save and keep working
4. Select save to save all changes and exit to the manage my account screen
Contact Preferences
1. Choose whether to be included in the corps directory
2. Put a checkmark next to the information that you want included in the directory.
  1. Note: You must select at least one contact item to be included in the directory, such as email, phone number, or address.
3. Check the box to confirm that you want to also allow members of different corps throughout the territory to find you in the directory.
4. Select save
Change Email
1. Your email address is also your username. Your current email address will be shown.
2. Enter your new email address in both fields.
3. Select save
4. You will be sent an email to confirm the address is active and correct.

Search Corps Directory

Search the directory of names and photos of members at your corps and across the territory.

While logged into https://soldier.sauss.net
Select Search the Directory from the menu
Search for corps members by first and/or last name using the search box
Please enter at least three letters in your search term
Tap the checkbox if you want to search across the territory and not just in your corps
Please keep in mind that people may choose not to be listed in this directory, even if they are active members of the corps.
Photo Directory
1. The Soldier portal app also features a corps member photo directory. This can be helpful to learn the names of other corps members or see photos of people who you only know by name.
2. If no other members have shared their photos yet, you can be the first. Go to the account tab and click My Info.

Select Groups from the menu
Each of your active groups will be shown in a list
Tap the links to view all group members and upcoming meetings (if applicable)

Note: If groups are missing from your listing, please notify your corps officer.

All upcoming event dates and times will be shown as entered into the Corps Management System.

Click view more events link at the bottom to load more
Use the date range picker to change the period for future planning

Note: Upcoming events are also listed on the Home tab as soon as you log in.

Track My Stewardship

Thank you for your stewardship gifts through The Salvation Army church. Gifts received online using Tithe.ly or through named tithe/offering envelopes will be tracked for individuals or couples.

While logged into https://soldier.sauss.net
Select Stewardship from the menu
Recent gifts will be shown by date, meeting, gift amount, and fund
Tap the title of any column to sort, use the filter box to find text in any column
If there are no gifts linked to your corps management record, you may not see the stewardship tab in the Soldier Portal app.
To give online with Tithe.ly, visit the link below to find the direct link to give to your local corps.

We encourage you to give online to ensure that your gifts can be tracked in your soldier portal.

Note: Only gifts added since the system was launched will be shown.
Be sure to include individual or couple's first and last names on offering envelopes at the corps.

View My Attendance History

While logged into https://soldier.sauss.net
Select Attendance from the menu
This list shows a history of your meeting attendance at The Salvation Army. Records highlighted in green indicate that during that meeting you came to the alter as a seeker.
Tap the title of any column to sort, and use the filter box to find text in any column.
If a recent meeting you attended is missing, please notify your corps officer.

Please note that we do our best, but we may not have captured all your attendance in this software.

Corps Member Portal / Soldier App Help

The Soldier app is web-based and should work in any major web browser. We recommend Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome on Desktop and the standard browsers on mobile.
Add a bookmark to the home screen on smartphones to create a shortcut like other mobile apps.
If you forget your password, please click the forgot password link at https://soldier.sauss.net and enter your email address to reset your password. An email will be sent with instructions to access your account.
If you forget your username/email address, please contact your corps officer to look this up or change to a new email address to log in to the web account.
Attendance, stewardship, directory, support staff, and corps calendar pages will only show what is currently entered into the corps management system. If there is information missing, please get in touch with your corps officer.
By default, corps member contact information is not shown to others in the directory. Corps members must update their preferences to show specific contact info in the directory through their soldier app account.
