AOK Family Camp 2023: Fan the Flame
AOK Family Camp 2023: Fan the Flame
By: Lt. Colonel Dean Hinson
Paul's second letter to Timothy reminds him to Fan the Flame of the gift of God (2 Timothy 1:6). The flame of the Holy Spirit was fueled during the 2023 Arkansas and Oklahoma Divisional Family Camp. Over 350 delegates, adults and children, gathered at Camp Heart O' Hills to fellowship as a divisional family.
Commissioners Kelly and Donna Igleheart were warmly greeted and welcomed into the AOK family as they preached God's Word, making many new friends over the weekend. Special guests Bean and Bailey brought laughter and the Gospel message before traveling to the Tulsa Adult Rehabilitation Center for their Sunday morning service.
Camp activities such as horseshoes, shuffleboard, and swimming along with outdoor movies, watermelon eating, and Cotton Presley's Bible Study filled the days between Men's & Women's Rallies and Youth meetings. Making s'mores around the campfire was highly encouraged, adding a sweet emphasis to the Fan the Flame theme.
The altar, complete with an indoor fire, was the centerpiece of the sanctuary, filling numerous times over the weekend as the Holy Spirit continued to move. The AOK family celebrated together as eight senior soldiers and seven junior soldiers were enrolled. 12 delegates responded to the Call to Officership, many for the first time. God richly blessed the weekend, and the fire of the Holy Spirit continues to spread throughout the AOK Division.
