Be An Angel to a Little Angel
Christmas can be the most magical time of year for kids. You can easily imagine their eyes lighting up when they run over to the Christmas tree at the first sign of sunlight, excited for all of the possibilities hidden inside those perfectly wrapped gifts. Their entire year revolves around this very day and they are bursting with the kind of energy that only means one thing...Christmas.
But, for some kids, Christmas Day is just another day. No presents, no excitement, no magic.
We can't imagine anything more heartbreaking than seeing a child's face on Christmas morning when they realize they won't be getting any Christmas presents.
This is why we created the Angel Tree program, so kids in need get to experience the magic of Christmas, just like everyone else. All it takes is people like you to donate a little bit of your time and money to give them the Christmas they will never forget.
Please accept our request to sponsor a child this year and be an angel to a little angel.
The Angel Tree program has delivered Christmas presents to kids in need since 1979. This year, we hope to bless more than 1,500 children in the Winston-Salem area with the joy of opening presents on Christmas morning, with the help of generous donors in our community.
The process to adopt an angel is simple.
- Go to www.SAAngelTree.com and download a virtual “Angel Tree Tag”, or
- Pick up an “Angel Tree Tag” at one of these physical locations:
- Salvation Army Center of Hope. 1255 North Trade Street, Winston-Salem
- Hanes Mall, inside near the main entrance
- Walmart, 3475 Parkway Village Court, Winston-Salem
- Purchase the gifts on the list submitted by the child on your Angel Tree Tag
- Drop off the gifts at our warehouse
Individuals and organizations can sign-up to be an angel between October 24 and December 7.
Gifts will be delivered the week of December 15.

“We are forever grateful for the generous support of our community and local businesses that work alongside The Salvation Army to bring joy to so many children,” said Major Whiten. “It is truly an honor to be a blessing to kids in need.”
