Christmas Assistance Program For Children And Seniors

 

PROGRAM DETAILS

At The Salvation Army, we celebrate the birth of Jesus by spreading His hope and love. We believe that everyone deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning which is why we offer gift assistance for children (12 and younger) and seniors (60 and older). So if you need a little help getting items under the tree for your family, don’t worry – we are here for you.

To ensure your safety, we are handling Angel Tree applications differently this year, so please read the following information carefully as our registration process and dates have changed:

 

 

 

Angel Tree information

Registration will be at:

Citadel (1019 N. Moore Road) and East Lake (2140 E 28th St)

Times: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 9am - 3pm

& Wednesday 12pm-6pm Wed

Dates: September 16th-20th, September 23rd-27th


Distribution - location TBA

Dates: Dec 18th-20th

When an Angel Tree recipient is confirmed and processed, they will receive the address and pickup time.

We are planning to have someone at each location who speaks Spanish.


Required items:

- ID for adults

- Birth certificate for all children living in the home

- Proof of guardianship for those for whom you are not listed as the parent on the birth certificates

- Proof of income

- Proof of address

- Children’s sizes

- 3 wishlist items (no bikes (other than toddler riding toys)or large items will be permitted this year)

- Seniors must bring proof of income and ID. Clothing sizes and 3 wish list items under $50.


There will be absolutely NO APPLICATIONS taken after the dates nor will they be taken at the 614 on McCallie. The two locations listed are the only places to apply in Chattanooga and they must bring the required items or they will be sent to retrieve them before they can apply. They cannot apply for children for whom they do not have guardianship no matter the relationship.
