2025 East Lake Easter Egg Hunt Recap
On Saturday, April 12th, the lawn of The Salvation Army East Lake Corps and Community Center was bursting with bubbles, bounce-house laughter, and the smell of popcorn. But more than that, it was filled with hope, connection, and the good news of Jesus Christ.
With 157 attendees, this year’s East Lake Easter Egg Hunt brought together families, children, and volunteers for a day that was much more than candy and prizes—it was a living example of church outside the walls, love in action, and the joy of being part of something bigger than ourselves.
A Festival of Fun
From 12 PM to 2 PM, the campus transformed into a carnival of kid-friendly fun:
- Face Painting and a colorful Photobooth for unforgettable Easter memories
- Bounce House laughter echoing down the block
- Fishing for Ducks, Carrot Toss, Guess the Eggs, Mini Putt-Putt, and Big Jenga, Connect Four, and Cornhole to challenge and delight every age
- Prizes and candy at every station—because joy should always be generous
- Snow Cones, Hot Dogs, Popcorn, and all the sweet treats a celebration requires
And just when kids thought it couldn’t get better— Giveaways included multiple Easter baskets, shiny new bikes, and the day’s biggest prize: a brand-new 55” TV!
The Heart Behind It All
Amid the fun, there was a holy pause. Volunteers gathered the children and families under the open sky for a devotional moment centered on the words of Jesus. We reminded each other that Easter isn’t just a spring holiday—it’s a celebration of resurrection power.
Jesus doesn’t just clean up our past—He gives us new life.
“He is not here; He is risen.”
— Luke 24:6 (NLT)
This wasn’t just an event—it was an invitation to transformation.
Teens Who Lead the Way
One of the most beautiful highlights of the day was the leadership shown by the teenagers of the East Lake Corps. These young leaders set up game stations, ran concessions, helped with face painting, hid hundreds of Easter eggs, and stayed until the very last piece of trash was picked up.
In a culture that too often underestimates youth, these teens showed what servant leadership looks like—joyful, tireless, and deeply meaningful.
A Community Worth Celebrating
East Lake is a neighborhood full of resilience, warmth, and heart—and it was on full display this Easter. From volunteers to visitors, game hosts to gospel sharers, the East Lake Easter Egg Hunt reminded us all what happens when a community shows up for one another.
Thank you to every volunteer, donor, staff member, and family who made this day so special. And thank you, Jesus, for giving us a reason to celebrate—not just one Sunday a year, but every single day we live in Your grace.
We’ll be back next year with more eggs, more prizes, more joy—and the same eternal truth:
He is risen. He is alive. And so are we.
