49th Annual Easter Sunrise Service at Chattanooga National Cemetery
CHATTANOOGA, TN — April 11, 2025 — The Salvation Army of Greater Chattanooga invites the community to join in a cherished tradition of hope and worship at the 49th Annual Easter Sunrise Service, held Sunday, April 20, 2025, at 7:00 AM at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
For nearly five decades, this sacred gathering at sunrise has brought together people from across the region to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ — a powerful reminder that light always breaks through the darkness.
“Easter is more than a moment on the calendar,” said Major Douglas McClure, Chattanooga Area Commander for The Salvation Army. “It is the ultimate promise of hope — a living reminder that no matter the struggle, the victory of Christ gives us a future.”
Commissioners Kelly and Donna Igleheart, territorial leaders for The Salvation Army Southern Territory, will lead this year’s service — offering a message of faith, reflection, and renewal.
Following the Sunrise Service, the community is invited to continue their Easter celebration in local worship at 10:30 AM at any Salvation Army Worship Center throughout the region.
