PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP ONLINE

  • All members and guests are required to check-in at the tennis house. Members must swipe membership card at front desk upon each visit.

  • The Kroc Center operates on a pre-payment basis for all activities. We do not offer member accounts or monthly billing.

  • Children under age 12 must be always accompanied by a parent.

  • Children may enjoy our courts if they are playing tennis.

  • We are an alcohol, tobacco, smoke, and profanity free facility.

  • All reserved, drop-in, and open play requires membership or a Guest Pass.

  • Courts are reserved in 1.5 hour increments. Members may reserve seven days in advance; Guest Pass players may reserve two days in advance.

  • If unable to keep reservation, please notify the tennis house so we may accommodate other players’ requests.

  • Court reservations require two names for singles and four names for doubles.

  • If players are 15 minutes late for a reservation, their court may be offered to other members.

  • We do our best to accommodate specific court requests. Staff will make actual court assignments at check-in.

  • Weather and maintenance issues can deter play on clay courts. Tennis staff will determine playability and may offer an alternative surface or court time as needed.

  • Early facility closings may occur due to holidays and inclement weather.

  • Non-members may enjoy same day open play if they have paid for a clinic or lesson.

  • Tennis etiquette should be observed at all times, particularly when entering or exiting courts, and retrieving balls on adjacent courts during an active point.

  • Clay court shoe cleaners are located throughout the tennis facility.

  • Lockers are available; personal locks must be removed each day.

  • Lockers for small valuables are available for free outside the locker rooms.

  • Locker rooms are available for ages 13 and older. Younger children may use the family restroom.

  • Proper athletic attire must be worn. Only smooth soled, non-marking tennis shoes are permitted on the courts. Shirts are required. No midriffs or volleyball shorts.

  • Only Kroc Center staff may instruct on site.

Designed for the player wanting to learn the fundamentals of tennis, focal points include correct grips and swing patterns for all tennis strokes.

Catering to beginners who know the fundamentals and are beginning to rally, focal points include ball recognition, court awareness, and basic singles and doubles strategy.

Reserved for players with an NTRP rating of 3.0 and above (players possess the skills to rally consistently), with a heavy focus on drills, participants will learn proper shot selection and singles and doubles strategy.

Reserved for players with a minimum NTRP rating of 4.0 (players have mastered a wide range of shots and spins and can rally with consistency and accuracy), this clinic focuses heavily on advanced match play tactics.

JUNIOR YOUTH CLINICS

 

Registration opens Monday, May 5th. The clinics are offered on a weekly basis, from May 27th through August 9th.

There will be no clinics on July 4th or 5th. Abbreviated weeks of Memorial Day and of July 4th are prorated. 

PURCHASE A CLINIC

An introductory class for brand new players ages 4-5. This class introduces tennis to young players through fun tennis and coordination games. Coaches focus on grasping the attention of new players and building their love for the game!

An intermediate to advanced clinic for all ages. Players in this class are proficient with all skills learned in Academy 2. This class focuses on more advanced tennis techniques as well as the tactical side of competition. Perfect for tournament players looking to get more serious or high school players.

An intermediate clinic for all ages. This class has a strong emphasis on learning to rally with proper technique. It also focuses on basic tennis strategies through match play. Ideal for players interested in tournaments and high school tennis.

An advanced clinic for the most committed players of all ages. This class focuses on advanced competitive tactics, advanced stroke mechanics, and physical/mental training. This class is geared towards L5 and above USTA tournament players looking to play college tennis.

Beginner to intermediate tennis clinic for players ages 8-14. This class focuses on an introduction to basic tennis stroke techniques and the ability to rally and play points. Great for juniors looking to improve basic skills or make their high school tennis team. 

A Beginner tennis clinic for young players ages 6-11.  This class consists of a combination of fun drills and games designed to introduce new players to proper techniques and basic knowledge of the game of tennis.

Beginner to intermediate tennis clinic for players ages 12-18. This class focuses on an introduction to basic tennis stroke techniques and the ability to rally and play points. Great for juniors looking to improve basic skills or make their high school tennis team.

Wilson is a native of Greenville, South Carolina.  He has a bachelor’s degree from Erskine College and a master’s degree from The Citadel Military College.  Wilson was a four-time all-conference player in college as well as a national freshman of the year recipient at the University of South Carolina- Lancaster. Wilson has experience teaching players of all levels. He spent three years as the Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach at The Citadel and three years at the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC).  While at JTCC, he worked with several players with top 100 ITF world rankings.

Brad Cranford

In addition to being a PTR certified teaching professional, Brad is a Master Racquet Technician. Before joining the Kroc tennis team in 2011, Brad owned and managed a tournament racquet stringing team which traveled to ITF, ATP, WTA and USTA events where he serviced the racquets of the touring pros. Brad played varsity tennis at USC Union and USC Spartanburg and graduated from the PTR Van der Meer University in 1988. He has been the Associate Director of the USC Tennis Camps for twenty-five years and has coached high school and collegiate tennis.

Calvin Sullivan

Calvin is a graduate of the University of Charleston (West Virginia) where he played on the basketball team for two years and earned a degree in Health Sciences Athletic Training. Though basketball was Calvin’s game growing up, tennis is where he found his true passion.  Calvin joined the Kroc Tennis teaching staff in 2016.  When he is not on the Kroc courts teaching, he loves to travel and play competitive tennis.

Josh is a graduate of College of Charleston where he was on the tennis practice squad. In his senior year of high school, he was an All-State Region Player of the year and was selected to be on the North-South tennis team. Josh has taught tennis off and on since he was fourteen years old, starting at Thornblade Club, then spending three years at Wild Dunes Resort. In addition to teaching tennis, Josh has coached surfing and basketball.

Terry has been teaching tennis to adults and kids for as long as he can remember! He has been teaching at the Kroc Tennis Center since it opened in 2011. Terry is the Head Tennis Coach for the boys and girls teams at Southside High School. Terry has been awarded the South Carolina High School Coach of the Year five times and is a former #1 in South Carolina in singles and doubles.

Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Ashley Sloskey joined the Kroc Tennis team in 2015. She is USPTA certified and has amassed a dozen years in the tennis industry. Ashley began her career as a Tennis Professional and transitioned to the Tennis House Manager in 2021. Ashley graduated from Georgia Southern University where she competed on the tennis team and earned a BS in Marketing. She continues to enjoy her time on the court in addition to her responsibilities in the Tennis House.

Steve brings decades of tennis and business management experience to the Kroc Tennis Center. He is a graduate of The University of South Florida.  Prior to arriving in Greenville, he held positions as Director of Junior Development, Head Professional and Tennis Director at Northdale Tennis Club and Cheval Country Club in Tampa, Florida. He has coached junior players in the top five in Florida and South Carolina and has helped several players reach the collegiate level.
