The Salvation Army of Kerr County began as a service unit in 1967, and due to growth in need for service and the addition of community programs, it became a Corps in 1987 and moved into its current location at 855 Hays Street. Over the past 20 years the programs and services have continued to expand to meet the needs within the community. In 2010, The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center opened and allowed The Salvation Army in Kerrville an opportunity to provide new and expanded programs and services which allow it to serve a more diverse population within the community.
Current Services Offered:
Atmos Gas Bill and Rental Assistance: Submit your assistance request online at SAhelp.org, or to set up an appointment please contact the office on Tuesday or Thursday from 8:30am-12:30pm & 1:30-4:30pm. Any assistance should be requested before 4:00pm.
Clothing Vouchers
Dental Clinic (only extractions) per appointment. Every other Wednesday.
Men's Shelter opens at 6:00pm, ID required. For women and family shelter assistance please visit the Social Services office between 8am-4pm on Monday-Thursday or 8-2:30pm on Friday.
Hot meals provided daily at 6:30pm, Bread Distribution: Mondays at 1:00pm
Food Pantry
Monday-Thursday: 9:00am-4:00pm
Friday: 8:30am-2:30pm
