The Salvation Army Kroc Center Celebrates 15 Years of Community Impact
The Salvation Army Kroc Center is turning 15, and you’re invited to the party! From September 14–18, we’re celebrating a full week of activities – including waiving the registration fee, tours, and plenty of opportunities to explore everything the Kroc has to offer. Plus, if you purchase a membership in full this week you will be entered in a chance to win a coffee bundle from PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans – Ocean Springs. Find the full schedule at krocmscoast.org.
“The Salvation Army Kroc Center serves as a beacon of HOPE to children and families across the Coast,” said Danielle Emery, Kroc Director. “We have locals and tourists that utilize the center for daily enrichment and vacations. We want our community and guests of all ages to discover a place of belonging where they can develop skills, make memories, and try something new. Scholarships are also available, making the Kroc accessible to everyone.”
Since opening its doors with an open house on September 17, 2011, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Kroc Center has grown from just 242 founding memberships to more than 2,900 active members today. And while membership unlocks the best value, the Kroc offers plenty of ways for non-members to join the fun. Our indoor Aquatics Center alone has made a splash nationwide, with over 22,300 swim sessions this year—a one-of-a-kind experience on the Coast.
The 52,000-square-foot facility is packed with features:
- Performing Arts Chapel with state-of-the-art A/V
- Full-sized gymnasium
- Weight and fitness rooms
- Dance/ Aerobics studio
- Child care area and classrooms
- Art and music programs
- Stadium complex with athletic field, track, and visitor stands
- Indoor Aquatics Center with lap pool, splash pad, zero-entry pool, and a two-story water slide
