You asked, and we listened! For the first two years, The Salvation Army presented Taste of Biloxi, which turned into a tremendous success. Restaurants all over South Mississippi requested to participate in the event to show their support for The Salvation Army. This meant we were going beyond our "Taste of Biloxi" name, but we had an easy solution - include restaurants and sponsors from all six counties we serve and call the event, "Taste of South Mississippi!"
In 2020, we had no choice but to cancel the event due to COVID-19. In 2021 and 2022 we held virtual events; these years were impacted by a loss of donations and the number of children/families we can serve in the community. In 2023, we came back, LIVE & IN PERSON! We had a record-breaking event, raising nearly $30,000 in donations and in-kind gifts!
This evening gives our 500+ guests a chance to explore The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center while also sampling foods from the best restaurants South Mississippi has to offer, enjoy live entertainment, and bid on silent auction items.
This year, with the inflation impacting our community and those we serve, our fundraising goal is $45,000. All Taste of South Mississippi proceeds remain in the community to benefit Kroc Center programs and scholarship fund. This includes providing children opportunities to participate in sports, art, music, camp, swimming, and more! PLUS, the Kroc Center has an open-door policy that nobody will be turned away due to an inability to pay. Therefore, your donation will benefit children and families who otherwise could not join.

Taste of South Mississippi boasts many excellent restaurants on the coast and provides them with a unique opportunity to showcase culinary cuisines in a exciting environment and are entered to win "The People's Choice Award" for the best dish and bragging rights for the year! Participation is FREE and all food donations are tax deductible.
We only ask that you provided samples of your best dish for at least 300 guests; all paper products to serve your samples; display items for your table; and any marketing materials you would like to distribute.

The bidding fun kicks off at 5:30 pm on March 14. Dive into the link every day for a daily dose of new and exciting items and experiences. But hold your horses, you gotta create an account on the bidding site and throw in a credit/debit card. Do this before the event so you can spend less time typing and more time savoring the food and enjoying the auction excitement!
Our silent auction includes some of the most unique artwork, exciting getaways, beautiful jewelry, fun entertainment, and so much more for all ages and walks of life!
By donating an item to The Salvation Army's Taste of South Mississippi Silent Auction, not only are you supporting a great cause, but you also gain exposure by being part of our program that goes home with every attendee.
All donations are tax-deductible and we accept items such as gift certificates, jewelry, art, sports memorabilia, vacations, etc. We will be happy to pick items up or feel free to drop them off at the Kroc Center (Alcohol donations are NOT accepted).
