A MESSAGE

OF HOPE

As we reflect on 2025, we are deeply grateful for your faithful support of The Salvation Army of Nashville. Because of you, families found stability through rent and utility assistance, neighbors facing homelessness discovered pathways to housing, and individuals in crisis received the care, and encouragement they needed to move forward. Even as the need for help and hope in our community continues to rise, your generosity has allowed us to respond with compassion, dignity, and hope.

More than meeting immediate needs, your partnership and investments make transformational relationships possible. Through consistent care, trust, and encouragement, we walk alongside our neighbors as they rebuild confidence, restore stability, and move toward lasting change. They are not just receiving help for today, but gaining hope for the future.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are encouraged by the strength of this community and the knowledge that we serve together. The needs around us remain real, but so does our shared commitment to love our neighbors in practical and meaningful ways. With your partnership, we will continue to stand in the gap for those who need it most.

As Scripture reminds us, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

GALATIANS 6:2

Thank you for walking alongside us in this mission of service and transformation. Your support truly makes lasting change possible.

God bless you,

Majors Bill and Stephanie Mockabee

OUR PROGRAMS

The Residences on Bison Trail

THE RESIDENCES
ON BISON TRAIL

The Residences on Bison Trail is a supportive housing facility for families, women, and men who are taking their final steps to leave homelessness behind. Each family or person develops unique SMART goals to help them reach the future they envision for themselves. We support those goals through individualized case management, counseling, life-skills classes, and referrals to community support systems based on their unique needs.

LifNav

LIFNAV

LifNav works by meeting people where they are. Navigators engage individuals living in encampments through consistent street-level outreach, building trust over time before connecting clients to personalized case management and services including housing, mental health support, addiction recovery, income assistance, and family reunification. Every step of the process is guided by a dedicated, compassionate navigator who walks alongside each client toward their individual goals.

STORIES OF HOPE

Shauntelle

SHAUNTELLE’S STORY

After a devastating tornado destroyed her home, Shauntelle and her children faced homelessness, uncertainty, and overwhelming challenges. Unsure where to turn, she found hope through The Salvation Army. With support for housing, childcare, and essential needs, she was given a clear path forward. Today, Shauntelle is rebuilding her life with confidence and stability, grateful for the opportunity to start again.

Kasey

KASEY’S STORY

After 11 years in prison, Kasey struggled with addiction, homelessness, and finding his place in society. Through The Salvation Army, he found not only shelter and support, but a renewed sense of purpose. Today, Kasey is sober, rebuilding his life, and giving back — returning to the same streets he once lived on to share hope, faith, and encouragement with others.

HOW CAN I ENGAGE?

Volunteer

We have multiple opportunities available for volunteering throughout the year! From meal service with our LifNav team, youth activities and tutoring at The Residence on Bison Trail, Red Kettle Bell Ringing or Angel Tree, we have many opportunities for you to engage your neighbors coming to us for help and hope! You can get a first hand view of how the investments entrusted to The Salvation Army in Nashville are used to change lives!

Coordinate a Drive

Our programs have many needs throughout the year and your church, company or organization can help meet them! We have a variety of drives that you can host including: Move In Kits for The Residences on Bison Trail, House Warming Kits for those moving into permanent homes, Cold and Hot Weather Kits for LifNav, and Angel Tree Toy and Gift Card Drives.

Join Our Local Disaster Response Team

We are looking to strengthen our Emergency Disaster Team who can join us when the worst happens in our community. Teams would originally focus on learning about, and cooking on our mobile kitchen unit, also known as a canteen, but there are opportunities to train in other areas such as Spiritual and Emotional Care.

Donate or Sponsor an Event

None of the work we do could happen without financial investments from our community. Individual investments are welcomed 365 days a year, and we offer several opportunities for your business to sponsor various events like Red Kettles, Drive For Hope at TopGolf, Christmas Media, and Angel Tree.
