At The Salvation Army, our commitment to serving those in need spans every single day of the year. We believe in the power of community support and the transformative impact it can have on individuals and families facing hardships. Here are a few heartfelt testimonials from people whose lives have changed thanks to your generous support:

Angel Tree

"Every year at Christmas my family and I would sponsor an angel through The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, that is until last year. This past year I lost my job and my wife was diagnosed with cancer. I stayed home to care for her until she passed away. We used all of our savings and still couldn't make ends meet. My kids were not going to have a Christmas. Then I decided to call The Salvation Army and they blessed my family with food, toys and clothing. They brought some joy and hope to our family for the 1st time in several months."

Bull City Youth City

Growing up in Durham wasn't easy. There are gangs and drugs all of over the place. The BCYC director does everything he can to keep kids off the street. When we asked 'K' what the Youth Center did for him, he said "It saved my life. It gave me a place to go and kept me out of the streets" We are thankful that we can help young people like 'K'.

Food Pantry

"I am a single mom of 3. My hours at work have been cut and we do not qualify for food stamps. For the last week all we have had to eat is rice and beans. A neighbor told me about The Salvation Army and I have never been so excited to see a pack of chicken in my life. Thank you for providing food for my family!"
