2025 Scholarship Application Information:


*These 3 forms and all supporting documents must be received by the deadline to be considered during that Phase. 


The three Phases of Scholarship Awards in 2025 are on the following schedule:
On-going Program from February to November

PHASE STARTS ENDS/DEADLINE DECISION ENROLLMENT
Phase 1 February 24 April 10 by May 1 Summer &/or Fall 2025 
Phase 2 May 1 July 6 by August 1 Fall 2025
Phase 3 August 1 November 7 by December 1 Spring 2026


You will be notified of the Committee’s decision by letter of a Scholarship offer or a declined request and the reason why.


Reducing Financial Barriers to Education: 
The Salvation Army Kenneth Hill Adult Education Program 

There are many potential barriers to continuing your education.  
We don’t want cost to be the barrier that prevents adult residents of Hood County from pursuing their education and dreams.  This practical assistance will help individuals gain the formal education and training necessary to secure employment, develop their careers, and achieve an improved standard of living for themselves and their families. 

All Types of Programs 

Funding is available for a wide range of educational opportunities including:  
graduate, four-year and two-year degree college courses, community colleges, vocational and technical schools, professional and licensing programs and more… as long as they are an accredited educational program! 

Qualifications 

  1. The Salvation Army Kenneth Hill Adult Education Program Committee is seeking the traditionally underserved (in terms of access to scholarships) graduating high school students and adults who are committed to furthering their education and improving their communities.  
  2. Recipients must be residents of Hood County and demonstrate financial need.  
  3. They must be enrolled or have been accepted to a two-year or four-year college or university, vocational school, professional certification or licensing program.  
  4. Eligible applicants may receive scholarships for tuition, books and fees, and other education-related expenses while successfully enrolled in school. 
  5. Scholarships are NOT for pre-set amounts but will vary based on financial needs, number of applicants, and funds available each year.  
  6. Scholarship Recipients are eligible to apply every 12 months for scholarship renewal! They must be on a graduation/completion track and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above satisfactory competence levels.

This Scholarship program is intended for Hood County residents who have: 

  1. Decided on a specific program of study and school 
  2. Researched, selected, applied to, and been accepted to that program/school 
  3. Completed FAFSA and had the FAFSA Rating sent to that school
