Hello,
Let us introduce ourselves! We are Debbie Johnson and Cynthia Hawkins and we are the 1st VPs responsible for Membership in The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Hood County. We would love to have you join our outstanding group of ladies who enjoy volunteering to help those less fortunate in our community.
Meetings are held at 10 am every second Tuesday of the month from September through May at Acton Methodist Church- YOUTH Building, 3433 Fall Creek Highway, Granbury, TX.
Guests and New Members always receive a warm welcome!
If you decide to join, please complete the Membership Form on the next tab.
Annual Membership Dues is only $25 per year.
New Members will receive a Member Directory, name badge, and be on the distribution of our monthly Newsletters and eblasts to stay current with events and opportunities to serve.
We hold New Member Orientations as needed. You’ll hear from an experienced “SAWA Sister” who will contact you. Going to lunch together is a great chance to have them share their insights and answer your questions as they get to know you individually!
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!
Reach out on our Contact Us page for more information or call our Salvation Army Granbury Office at (682) 936-2264.
Respectfully,
Debbie and Cynthia
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
We believe Christ changes lives. This faith gives us a motivation that goes beyond simply doing good. We have a passion for Doing The Most Good for the body, soul, and spirit. It is based on four principles.
Compassionate – Caring for the poor. Feeding the hungry. Sheltering the homeless. Clothing the naked. Loving the unlovable. Befriending the friendless.
Uplifting – William Booth once said, “The Salvation Army is a place of hope. When every other light is extinguished, and every other star has gone down, this one gleam shines steadily and clearly out in the darkened sky: ‘If I could only get to The Salvation Army, they will do something for me’.”
Brave – people who serve in The Salvation Army routinely go into places others prefer to avoid: Impoverished neighborhoods, jails and prisons, hospital rooms and nursing homes, gatherings of alcoholics and drug addicts, and the immediate scene of natural disasters.
Trustworthy – To those who want to positively affect their world, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Hood County is the local contact where our group strives to help those in need through payments for rent, utility, and prescriptions. Our office is ready to assist when needed.
