Our Leadership

Salvation Army Programs are led by Salvation Army Officers. These officers are responsible to lead by assessing needs, delivering programs and directing ministries for our local community. From serving food to balancing the books, they function as the Executive Directors and the Pastors for the The N.E.W. Salvation Army of Nash, Edgecombe, and Wilson Counties.

Why the uniform?

The N.E.W. Salvation Army, which serves Nash, Edgecombe and Wilson counties, is currently led by Captains Wayne and Claudia Meads. The Meads came to the area in June of 2022. However, Captain Wayne Meads hails from nearby Pitt County. Captain Claudia Meads was born in Brazil and brings her own brand of charm and enthusiasm to The Salvation Army. Both officers work tirelessly to preach the gospel and meet needs of the community. They have two young children: Micah, 3, and Lilah, who was born in October of 2022. For more information about their work here, please read the article on the Story Page.
