Every day, we strive to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. We offer unique, local programs, designed to meet the specific needs of our community. 

RENTAL, UTILITY, AND FOOD ASSISTANCE

The N.E.W. Salvation Army based in Rocky Mount offers rental, utility and food assistance as funding permits. To find out more about these services, call 252-446-4496 and choose option 5.

JOSHUA'S CHALLENGE LITERACY CHALLENGE

Our new Joshua's Challenge Literacy Program offers free tutoring n reading to students at select schools in the area. The goal of the program is to help as many third-grade students as possible reach the goal of reading on grade level in this pivotal academic year. SENIOR FELLOWSHIP AND EXERCISE PROGRAMS

The physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of senior citizens in our community is important to us, We offer a regular Wednesday fellowship time that provides food, fellowship, crafts, and other programming for seniors. In addition, we offer gentle exercise classes and devotionals on Mondays and Thursdays. For more information, call 252-446-4496 and choose option 6.

DISASTER SERVICES

For more than 120 years, The Salvation Army has been lending a helping hand after disasters. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Floyd and Matthew and after the recent QVC fire, The Salvation Army helped people rebuild their lives. We also offer assistance in the wake of personal disasters, such as house fire. For more information, call 252-446-4496 and choose option 2 or option 5. 

SPIRITUAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND MENTORING

Our Salvation Army officers are trained to supply spiritual and emotional help to those who are suffering from addictions, family struggles, or the normal stress of life. We also offer a Pathway of Hope mentoring program to work with parents or young children in breaking the cycle of poverty. For more information, call 252-446-4496 option 5.

VOLUNTEER THE GIFT OF YOUR TIME

We can always use volunteers! During times of disaster, our trained volunteers provide a great service to the community. Year-round, we need volunteers to help with the work at our thrift stores, which is a great way to connect with the community. During the Christmas season, we need help with the fun and rewarding task of ringing bells at our famous Red Kettles! DONATE ITEMS TO AND SHOP AT OUR FAMILY STORES

We welcome donations to our Salvation Army Family Stores in Rocky Mount, Tarboro and Wilson. The Salvation Army Family Stores also are a great place to shop for used clothing, furniture, and household items. Rest assured that your support of our thrift stores means that people in your community are benefitting from  financial help and services from your local Salvation Army.
