Good Neighbor and Corporate Citizen Making a Difference
The Salvation Army of Wake County’s mission to serve those in need depends on the compassion and generosity of the community around us. Every day, individuals and organizations step up to help us fulfill our mission—and we’re incredibly grateful for each and every one of them.
One such outstanding partner is Enbridge Gas North Carolina.
Recently, the South Raleigh Operations Center dedicated a volunteer crew to spend the day at our Center of Hope, where they helped beautify our grounds. This hands-on collaboration perfectly embodies what it means to be both a good neighbor and a dedicated corporate citizen.
Energy Beyond the Pipeline
Enbridge serves over 650,000 customers across 28 counties in North Carolina, providing safe, reliable, and affordable natural gas for nearly a century. But their true impact goes beyond the energy they deliver—it’s the energy they bring to our communities that truly makes a difference.
Their values of philanthropy, sustainability, and community vitality were on full display during their day of service. In fact, each Enbridge Gas office across the state is empowered to lead at least one volunteer engagement event per year.
“As a public service organization, it’s about more than just the energy we deliver; it’s the energy we put in,” said Jeff Forehand, Supervisor of Gas Operations at Enbridge. “We have the privilege of fueling the lives of over 400,000 Triangle homes and businesses. With that comes the opportunity—and responsibility—to also be good neighbors and corporate citizens.”
Giving with Purpose
When the South Raleigh Operations Center team was searching for a local volunteer opportunity suitable for a larger group, they connected with our volunteer coordinator Rosemary Weber. Together, they found several meaningful projects that aligned with Enbridge’s mission and our community needs.
“The goal was to support an organization that helps others in the communities where we work and live,” Forehand added. “The Salvation Army was the perfect fit.”
A Day of Impact
The Enbridge volunteers made a lasting impression—not just on our facility, but on the lives of those we serve. And the impact went both ways. Volunteers shared how much they enjoyed the experience.
“They enjoyed being able to give back, especially to an organization that helps others,” said Forehand. “Our volunteers stepped up to show their support in a way that truly reflects Enbridge’s values.”
Thank You, Enbridge
At The Salvation Army of Wake County, we’re honored to partner with organizations like Enbridge Gas North Carolina. Their commitment to serving others, their investment in the vitality of our community, and their willingness to roll up their sleeves and help—it all makes a real difference.
Thank you, Enbridge, for being a wonderful neighbor and a true community partner.
