Who We Are

The Salvation Army of Lee County Navigation Services connects individuals living in homelessness, or on the edge of homelessness, with resources that will guide them in re-establishing and maintaining equilibrium in their lives. We refer clients to a variety of partners depending on client need. Our array of supporters help individuals navigate from crisis to stability by providing:

  • Medical services
  • Mental health support and services
  • Peer support for those in active addiction
  • Shelter and housing
  • Job searches and resume writing
  • Veterans services

Our Navigation Services are focused on bridging the gap that exists between the needs of clients and available resources in Lee County.

Important Notice: Beginning June 21, 2024 we will no longer be operating our Navigation Services from the Bread of Life Ministry at 219 Maple Avenue in Sanford. Starting June 24, we will launch our "Navigation Services Bus" at 142 E. Chisholm Street. Our Emergency Services mobile canteen will continue providing meals and will be operational Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

What We Do

We offer a place for those experiences homelessness and poverty to get help.

In our first year, 2021, we had over 8,000 visits and served over 10,000 meals.

We provide low barrier access, free of charge, to the following basic daily amenities:

  • Hot breakfast
  • Bagged lunches
  • Case management
  • Personal hygiene supplies
  • Public transportation vouchers
  • Clothing vouchers through The Salvation Army Thrift Store

Donate

Our work is only possible through the generous support of donors like you.

We rely on contributions of breakfast foods, ground coffee, cleaning supplies, disposable plates and tableware, and personal hygiene items.

Financial support is always welcomed and needed.

To donate, you may do so online or please call 919-718-1717.

Volunteer

We could not operate without the compassionate efforts of our dedicated volunteers.

Our volunteers help prepare breakfast weekdays from 8:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., and assist clients as needed.
