Senior Center Gala Event Celebrates Joy, Faith, and Friendship
The Salvation Army Senior Center at 2850 New Walkertown Road was filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt fellowship as over 120 senior citizens and their loved ones gathered for the annual Senior Gala special afternoon event dedicated to celebrating the lives, compassion, and enduring faith of the Center’s cherished members.
The event brought together seniors, staff, and volunteers for a day of pure joy and community. Guests enjoyed live worship music, a hilarious and heartwarming comedy performance by one of the regular attendees, plenty of dancing, and a delicious meal prepared with love. The event also included a time of Christian worship, reminding everyone of God’s goodness and the strength that comes from shared faith and friendship.
“This is more than a party, it’s a celebration of the people who make this place a family,” said Sergeant Alves Gonzalez. “Our seniors have given so much to others throughout their lives, and tonight we had the privilege of giving back to them.”
The Senior Center provides daily opportunities for older adults to stay active, engaged, and connected. Programs include fitness classes, arts and crafts, cards, dominoes, dance, music rehearsal, Bible studies, and community outings, all designed to nurture the body, mind, and spirit. The Gala served as a joyful reminder of how vital these connections are to the health and happiness of local seniors.
As the event drew to a close, guests joined hands in prayer and thanksgiving, grateful for another year of shared laughter, love, and blessings.
