Midwest Food Bank & The Salvation Army sending hurricane disaster relief to Louisiana, Texas

Midwest Food Bank sent disaster relief to help victims of Hurricane Laura in recent days. A semi-truck-load of cleaning supplies went to Lake Charles, LA, on Monday, August 31. A semi load of family food boxes left the Normal Illinois warehouse on September 2, for Beaumont, TX, another was scheduled to leave September 3.

Midwest Food Bank is a first responder in a partnership with The Salvation Army. Disaster relief can be on the road within 24 hours of a request. Family food boxes hold enough shelf-stable food to sustain a family of four for up to five days. The Georgia Division is gathering supplies and will filling boxes in the coming week.
