The Salvation Army of Greater Macon Receives State Farm Grant

Sep 1, 2020

Macon's only transient homeless shelter, The Salvation Army of Greater Macon, was announced as a recipient of the State Farm Grant. The grant will be used to support the shelter and meal programs of The Salvation Army of Greater Macon.

"We are grateful and blessed to receive such a generous grant from State Farm. Operating 24-7 during a pandemic is a challenge, but one that we will overcome. The funds from the State Farm Grant will allow us to continue meeting the needs of the homeless in Central Georgia." – Major Johnny Poole

"Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is helping turn caring into doing says State Farm agent James Hawkins. We are proud to support the Salvation Army efforts to provide safe shelter and a warm meal to the homeless and those in need"

Under the leadership of the Pooles, The Salvation Army of Greater Macon will continue to serve families, children, men, women, and Veterans who need emergency shelter. The Salvation Army's 126-bed facility will continue to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
