CAROLINAS MUSIC & ARTS CONSERVATORY

WHAT IS CONSERVATORY?

During the summer, The Carolinas Music & Arts Department hosts a summer conservatory program at Camp Walter Johnson in Denton, North Carolina. At this program, students develop skills and talents to be used for worship at their home church. In addition to the high quality and intensive instruction we offer during our summer, we have devotions and Bible study regularly. Our ultimate goal during the summer is to lead our people to a deep relationship with Christ.

Junior Youth & Music Camp (ages 7-12)

Jr. Youth & Music Camp is a one-week program with around 80 students ages 7-12. During this week, each student can choose to participate in brass, percussion, acting, dance, guitar, piano, visual arts, or outdoor & wilderness exploration. Along with choosing one of those classes, students have the opportunity to learn how to sing in a choir learning a musical, which is performed at the concert. Outside of classes, students will participate in many camp activities such as swimming, archery, boat rides, and many other activities!

Carolinas Music & Arts Conservatory (ages 12-17)

Carolinas Music & Arts Conservatory (CMAC) is a four-week program with around 65 students ages 12-17. During this program, each student will choose to participate in band (brass & percussion), acting, dance, guitar, piano, or visual arts. Along with choosing one of those classes, all students have the opportunity to learn how to sing in a choir and will be able to choose a second field of study for an elective which can vary from a film class to piano to an exercise class! Outside of classes, students will participate in many camp activities and fun programs. CMAC also travels and joins local Salvation Army churches on Sunday morning and an annual trip to Carowinds!
