Emergency Disaster Services

The Salvation Army is ready to serve at a moment's notice whenever disaster strikes. Our local trained team may service in local, state, national and international disasters.

Assistance

For those with no place to go or in need of emergency shelter, local Salvation Army homeless shelters provide a warm, safe place for men, women, and families to stay. In cities where we do not operate homeless shelters, we offer financial assistance to cover emergency overnight housing costs or refer those facing housing and food insecurity to partner programs with emergency shelter services. You never know when an emergency or disaster is going to strike, but The Salvation Army is ready to move at a moment's notice to head out and provide emergency assistance and services in those times of need. Whether serving along the path of a recent tornado, or serving our community in times of extreme heat and cold, we are ready to make a difference in our community. We provide summer camps and after-school programs for students of all ages, and numerous music, art, and athletic programs for aspiring youth.

Fighting food insecurity

Free meals served daily at our Community Kitchen located at 300 Webster Avenue, Waco, TX.

Cold breakfast - daily at 7:00 a.m.
(hot breakfast on Sundays at 8:00 a.m.)
Lunch - Mondays & Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m.
Dinner - every night at 5:30 p.m.

Our Food Pantry is located at 4721 West Waco Drive, Waco, TX, and is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (bring ID, eligible every 30 days).

On the 5th Saturday of the month, The Salvation Army team will deliver meals to those who are at homeless camps or low-income motels in Waco, TX. as part of the Waco Street Ministry collaboration of rotating groups who serve in this capacity.
