About Us

When people in Knoxville face crisis, they need someone who will take the time to listen, respond in the moment, and remain alongside them as they move forward.

That’s what we do at the Salvation Army of Knoxville.

Our work focuses on meeting immediate needs while helping individuals and families move toward stability. That means responding in the moment, but also staying engaged long enough to support real progress.

We do this work as part of our calling as a church—

serving anyone who comes through our doors, without discrimination, in the name of Jesus Christ.

What We Do

Emergency Assistance – Help with rent, utilities, groceries, and other essentials when families are facing immediate hardship.

Emergency Shelter – Safe shelter for men, women, and families

Residential Services – A range of shelter programs to support men, women, and families as they work toward overcoming obstacles, securing stable housing, and landing on their own two feet.

Case Management – Individualized support to help clients navigate employment, healthcare, community resources, and housing systems.

Programs to Support Children and Youth – Including the Salvation Army summer camp, Angel Tree, and other programs.

This work is made possible by a community that chooses to stay involved.

We carry a national name, but our work is local—and so is our funding.

Every donation supports programs right here in Knoxville and

helps ensure there is always a next step for those who need it most.
