Christmas Assistance

The Salvation Army recognizes that holidays can bring added financial and emotional stress for families in need. We offer a variety of services to help families and individuals make it through more difficult holiday seasons including our Angel Tree program, Adopt a Family and Community Care.

The Salvation Army is ready to serve at a moment's notice whenever disaster strikes. Our local trained team may service in local, state, national and international disasters.

Emergency Shelter Programs

The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend is uniquely suited to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of men, women, children and veterans who seek shelter.

Our programs help individuals to focus on their needs and successfully transition from homelessness into a home of their own. Our case managers work with every individual and family to help them have successful outcomes.

The Salvation Army’s emergency shelters can assists up to 20 families, 50 single men, and 10 veterans. We serve an average of 12,000 meals, 700 hygiene products, and 200 baby products per month. Our shelters are filled to capacity on a regular basis.

Homeless Prevention

The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend’s Homeless Prevention programs help individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless. Case mangers work with clients on a case by case basis to determine their needs. Rent and utility assistance is available to help individuals become up-to-date with their bills.

The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend’s Homeless Prevention programs help combat the top three reasons for Homelessness in Corpus Christi:

  • Inability to pay the rent/mortgage,
  • Unemployment
  • Divorce or separation.

Fighting food insecurity

The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend food pantry serves individuals and families every month. Our food pantry serves individuals from any zip code. All you need to bring with you is your ID.

The Food Pantry is located at 1804 Buford St., Corpus Christi, TX 7840s and is open the first Tuesday and Wednesday of every month from 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM.

DO YOU NEED HELP WITH FOOD?

We are continuing our Food Pantry Services as part of our COVID-19 response. Due to the higher need for food and assistance during this time, we are serving many more people. In order to maintain the safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, our Food Pantry is operating in a Drive-Thru system.

The love of God is at the heart of what we do. Our service-oriented approach to faith is shared each Sunday at services throughout the country.

(Meeting together in our building is now possible for our 11:00 am Sunday Worship Service only. The rest of our church activities are temporarily online only to follow the safety guidelines for the prevention of spreading COVID-19.
