Majors Nathanael and Lucila Doria

Corps Officers

Majors Nathanael and Lucila Doria are educators originally from Mexico. In 1991, the Dorias moved to California to support the work of The Salvation Army and spent 12 years serving in California and Arizona. After that they transitioned into the role of public-school teachers in San Antonio for another 12 years. The Dorias returned to The Salvation Army full time as officers in 2017, assigned as commanding officers of Lubbock where they served for two years, then were moved to The Galveston County Command, and now serve at The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend.

Majors Nathanael & Lucila Doria express their goals as serving God as we serve others. They are here to serve alongside the staff, volunteers, members of our Advisory Board and other supporters of The Salvation Army.

The Dorias are responsible for all church programs and social services at The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend, including emergency shelter, case management, rental and utility assistance, after-school and summer youth programs, and grocery assistance.
