Year after year, The Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend remains committed to ensuring children staying in our Family Shelter have the resources they need to succeed in school through our annual Back To School Shopping Spree. We invite you to partner with us in providing children in our shelter with the essentials they need as they prepare for the new school year.

The average age of a child living at The Salvation Army shelter is 9 years old, and hundreds of children stay in our shelter throughout the year with their families. While our Back-To-School Shopping Spree helps children living in the shelter at the beginning of the school year, children continue entering our shelter every month, creating an ongoing need for school essentials.

To meet that need, we plan to establish our year-round Shelter Children Educational Fund. With continued support, children entering our shelter throughout the year can receive essential school necessities, including clothing, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, and other items to help them begin school with confidence.

With your generosity, each child may receive up to $250 in back-to-school essentials. For families facing difficult circumstances, this assistance provides hope during a challenging time.

Help us ensure every child entering our shelter has the tools needed for success by sponsoring a child today with a gift of $250. Checks may be mailed to The Salvation Army, 1804 Buford Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78404, with “Shelter Children Educational Fund” on the memo line.
