Volunteer With Us

Volunteer with The Salvation Army

Almost 3.4 million people of all ages volunteered their time, talents, and resources to assist The Salvation Army’s work across the nation! Our volunteers are critical partners in helping us fulfill our promise to America of “Doing the Most Good.”

The Salvation Army Serving Waco and McLennan County is dedicated to making a difference in our amazing community, and we can do this most effectively with your help! People helping people is the key to seeing lasting change happen in the lives of our friends and families in our community. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available at our Center where you can literally be the difference in a person’s life.

Help us serve our community by helping:

Serve shelter and community meals 4:30 AM - 6:30 PM SIGNUP HERE
Volunteer at our Family Thrift Store Mon- Sat 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM SIGNUP HERE
Work your Community Service hours with us. Call us at 254.756.7271 to discuss with our Human Resources Manager prior to serving.
Collect non-perishable food for the Food Pantry at 4721 W. Waco Drive. Drop off any time our Family Store is open.
Assist with the Angel Tree program at Christmas.
Assist with special events throughout the year.
Be an Advisory Board Member.
Join our Women’s Auxiliary and help us support our Family, Women’s & Children’s Shelter “Sally’s House.” Click HERE for more info.

Dates for future opportunities:

Group Volunteer events: Have your corporate, office, church service day with us! You can volunteer a group by reaching out to our Volunteer Coordinator at Dinah.mills@uss.salvatonarmy.org or call 254.756.7271.
Hold your own Fundraiser – Have a food drive at your place of business or take up an offering at your church to help stock our shelves for the hungry families in our community.
National Donut Day: Email Dinah.mills@uss.salvationarmy.org to help! June 7.
Ring bells at the Kettle during the Christmas season. Sign up open in October at RegisterToRing.com.
