Volunteer with The Salvation Army

Almost 3.4 million people of all ages volunteered their time, talents, and resources to assist The Salvation Army’s work across the nation! Our volunteers are critical partners in helping us fulfill our promise to America of “Doing the Most Good.”  Thank you for walking alongside us to provide for those who need help.

HELP US SERVE OUR COMMUNITY BY:

  • RED KETTLE:  Ring bells at the Kettle during the Christmas season. Sign up opens in the first week of October at RegisterToRing.com.

  • ADOPT AN ANGEL TREE:  Work with our Angel Tree program that provides toys to children who may not have gifts under the tree this year.  If you provide the tree we will provide the Angels.  Adopt a family and help us spread Christmas Cheer.  Contact Tammie.miracle@uss.salvationarmy.org.
  • STAFF THE ANGEL TREE AT RICHLAND MALL:  Work with the community to get all “Angels” adopted and presents received! This is a great opportunity to get to know the community and their hear for serving.  There are three shifts each day, not long ones, and one shift on Sunday!  The Mall may change to Holiday Hours at which time we may adjust our hours, but until we know what those are, we are sticking to our plan!   Click HERE to register today.  We need your help to put smiles on a child. • HOST YOUR OWN FUNDRAISER: Have a food/toy drive at your place of business or take up an offering at your church to help stock our shelves for the hungry families in our community.  Pack hygiene bags for the homeless or collect travel size products for giveaway to needy families.
  • SERVE AT THE COMMUNITY KITCHEN THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS: Serve meals to people experiencing hunger in our community.  Give back your time and a smile to those who are marginalized in our city.  Register to see dates and times.  CLICK HERE to register for each date and keep your confirmation to show at the door.  Thank you so much for serving.
  • VOLUNTEER AT OUR FAMILY THRIFT STORE:  Mon- Sat 9:20 am -5:00pm.  We ALWAYS need large groups on Saturday to help us catch up and you can work any hours you’d like to fulfill volunteer service hours.  We need your help to process donations and stock the floor!  CLICK HERE only need to sign up once online and then sign in at the store.
  • MANDATORY COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS:  Work your Community Service hours with us.  Call us at 254.756.7271 to discuss with our Human Resources Manager prior to serving.
  • BE A WOMEN’S AUXILIARY MEMBER: Help our Auxiliary to raise funds, have events and provide volunteerism for the Salvation Army.  The Women’s Auxiliary only raises funding for Sally’s House, Waco’s only Emergency Shelter for women and children and families.  Reach out to:  Tammie.Miracle@uss.salvationarmy.org.

Dates for future opportunities:
